CHUTE CASE STUDY
Team - Ali Kazmi, Megan Fetterolf, Michelle Totilo, Kerri Thiel, Megan Mcconnell, Andrew Burich
For this case study, my role on the team was to make the website interface more user-friendly for Chute's customers. As is, their laundry plans were advertised as pay per pound or as a package of 50 or 150 lbs. However, not everyone is familiar with how much their average load of laundry weighs. For this reason, I decided to make a calculator to help Chute's customers choose the best laundry plan based on their usage.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Our team was tasked with coming up with solutions to the pain points offered by Reid, the CEO, and founder of Chute (now known as Fitted Laundry). He expressed that their three biggest pain points were: Marketing to their target markets (International students and divorced millennials), Driver optimization (they are spending almost 22% of revenue on gas and travel), and Camera technology (how to implement it).
However, upon listening to Reid’s pitch, the previous knowledge we have from Michael (our professor), and the market research we conducted, we found that Chute’s biggest issue was the relatively small number of customers they currently have. We believe that Chute could gain many more customers if they adopt some new marketing strategies, such as those suggested in our video presentation.
